Singapore Food Festival by At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy on 29th July


At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy, in partnership with Singapore Tourism Board, presents 'A New Taste', a series of events for you and your friends to partake in a cultural journey of Singaporean cuisine.

Go on a spice hunt in At-Sunrices’ very own garden, learn to make incredible beverages using local herbs, cook and plate delicious heritage dishes, grow your very own seedlings, and enjoy Azizah Ali’s book launch on Kampong cuisine – all of these and more await you at the At-Sunrice Campus this July.

There are five events, with two time slot options, per event, per day. Event dates are the 22nd and the 29th of July, 2017

Spice Garden Tour
At-Sunrice is proud to present its very own Spice Garden. Divided into '10 Kingdoms', take a journey of this urban garden with the guide of our Chef Instructors. Learn about the variety of herbs whilst enjoying delicious food and beverages that feature all of the very same fresh produce in their recipes.

10 - 11am, 4 - 5pm

Pot Herbs and Spices
Join the At-Sunrice team in our specially-designed Laboratory for a chance to learn how to grow fresh herbs and spices. During this hour-long session, you'll have the chance to understand how organic plants are potted, fertilised and grown. You'll also get the chance to make a special version of organic pesto, which you can then take home to enjoy, along with your potted plant.

11am - 12pm, 3 - 4pm

Banana Leaf Folding
At-Sunrice professional chefs teaches you how to make Lemper Udang, a delicious Singaporean dish that consists of glutinous rice dyed with blue pea flower, and filled with various fillings such as sweet peanut paste and spicy shrimp. This is then rolled in Banana leaf. Learn how to steam your own banana leaves, as well as prepare and cook this special heritage dish. This one hour of fun will teach you skills that will last a lifetime.

12 - 1pm, 2 - 3pm

Cooking and Plating Heritage dishes
Nasi Lemak is one of Singapore's most celebrated heritage dishes. Learn how to cook and plate this mouth-watering dish the At-Sunrice way. Using organic herbs and spices from our Spice Garden, this is one hour of cooking that you wouldn't want to miss!

10 - 11am, 3 - 4pm

Singapore-style Mocktail & Cocktail
Discover how to use organic herbs freshly-picked from our very own Spice Garden to make fresh, delicious beverages. Our Chef instructors will show you their take on the Nangka Kopi Martini and the all-popular Mojito.
